Translates live conversation

Speech around you becomes readable captions on your phone, in 13 languages — one tap on Translate switches modes. Hands-free switching (“Iris, translate to Spanish”) is in early access: ask us and we’ll enable it for your account.

Gets things done by voice

“Find the best coffee near me.” Iris looks it up on the web and speaks the answer. Tinkerers can plug in their own OpenClaw agent for messaging, lists, and more.

Knows where you stand

Where am I? Which way is north? How many steps today? Answered instantly from your phone’s own sensors — and directions hand off straight to Maps.

Remembers — only if you want

With a hosted account, Iris can keep durable preferences to personalize answers across sessions. One switch turns it off; one tap erases everything.

Turn the camera off mid-conversation — the recording LED goes dark while the voice session keeps going. Every data switch is in plain sight in Settings.

How to join the beta.

Four steps. The first two get you talking to Iris on your iPhone; the last one lights up your glasses.

Get Irisware from TestFlight

On your iPhone, tap the invite button below. If you don’t have Apple’s free TestFlight app yet, it installs first — and it may open on its own asking for an invite code. You don’t need a code: just come back to this page and tap the button again, then tap Accept → Install.

The easy way — no keys at all. Enter your email in the app and tap the sign-in link we send you. The first 100 hosted accounts are approved automatically; after that the app puts you on the waitlist — we review the waitlist and notify you when a seat opens.

  • Gemini API key (free from Google AI Studio) → the AI assistant, voice + vision.
  • + OpenAI key (optional) → live Translate.
  • + your own OpenClaw agent (optional, technical) → messaging, lists & more by voice.

Paste keys once in Iris → Settings. They stay on your phone.

Glasses owners: flip one switch

Iris talks to your glasses through Meta’s official Wearables Device Access Toolkit for third-party apps, which requires Developer Mode in the Meta AI app. It’s reversible and doesn’t change how your glasses work otherwise.

  1. Pair your Ray-Ban Meta glasses in the Meta AI app as usual.
  2. Meta AI → Settings → App Info → tap App version five times.
  3. Back in Settings, switch Developer Mode ON.
  4. In the Irisware app: Connect my glasses, approve the handoff, then Start with glasses.

No glasses? Skip this step and tap Start on iPhone instead.

Say “Iris” and talk

Ask about what you see, tap Translate for live captions, ask for directions — and when something feels off, Settings → Send Feedback puts it straight in our inbox.

Questions, answered honestly.

Is the beta free?
Yes. If you bring your own Gemini key, Google offers a free tier that covers casual use. If you use hosted access, we cover your usage up to a small monthly allowance. There is no payment anywhere in the app.
Do I need Ray-Ban Meta glasses?
No — Iris runs fully on the iPhone camera, and it’s a great way to try everything first. The glasses are where it gets magical: hands-free, eyes-up, the camera seeing exactly what you see.
What exactly is Developer Mode? Is it safe?
It’s an official setting in Meta’s own Meta AI app that lets third-party apps built on Meta’s Wearables Device Access Toolkit talk to your glasses. You unlock it by tapping the app version five times — a standard convention, the same way Android unlocks its developer options. It’s reversible at any time and doesn’t modify your glasses.
Is my data private?
We’re specific rather than vague here: your conversations are processed in real time by AI providers (Google Gemini; OpenAI when you use Translate) to generate answers — that’s how the product works. API keys you enter never leave your phone except to their own provider. Memory is optional, off in one switch, and fully erasable in one tap. An anonymous launch counter (no content, no personal data) can be switched off in Settings. Full details in the privacy policy.
Can I join on Android?
Not at the moment — the beta is iOS-only. If enough testers ask, an Android build is possible later; tell us at hello@iris-ai.app.
How do I give feedback?
Inside the app: Settings → Send Feedback. Attach a screenshot or record a voice note — it goes directly to the team, no account needed.
What can Iris actually do today?
Everything on this page is live: real-time voice + vision, live translation to 13 languages, web lookups by voice, location/compass/steps, Maps handoff, optional memory (hosted accounts), and the camera-off privacy toggle. We deliberately don’t advertise things that aren’t shipped — more integrations are in the works and will appear here when they’re real.
TestFlight opened and is asking me for an invite code
That happens when TestFlight was just installed — it opens on its own with a “Redeem” screen. There is no code and you don’t need one. Close TestFlight, come back to this page in your browser, and tap the invite link again — this time it opens straight to Accept → Install.
I already have TestFlight — what now?
Just open the invite link on your iPhone and tap Accept → Install. No invite code needed. Updates arrive in TestFlight automatically.
What if the 100 hosted accounts are taken?
The app tells you when you sign up and puts you on the waitlist automatically — we review the waitlist and notify you when a seat opens. In the meantime you can start right away by bringing your own keys (see “How to join” above), or reach us at hello@iris-ai.app.
How long will the beta last?
Until Iris is polished enough for a public release — no fixed date. TestFlight builds are valid for 90 days each and we ship new ones well within that window.
